How to Set Up Your Meta Headset for Mixed Reality

To get the most out of the Vobling VR Fire Trainer, you need to use two key Mixed Reality features together: Passthrough (which lets you see your actual physical room) and Hand Tracking (which lets you interact without using controllers).
Before you use the features in the application, you need to make sure your Meta headset is properly configured to handle both. Here is a quick guide on how to adjust your settings for the perfect training session.
1. Enable Hand and Body Tracking
Our application uses hand tracking so you can easily navigate menus and place (paint) fire hazards exactly where you want them in your room, without needing controllers.
Put on your Meta headset and open the main Settings menu.
Select Movement Tracking (or simply Tracking, depending on your software version).
Make sure that the Hand and Body Tracking toggle is turned ON.
2. Set Up Your Room and Physical Space
To make Passthrough work correctly so the virtual fire interacts with your real walls and floors you need to scan your environment. You can manage this directly through the Meta system.
Go to Settings > Physical Space.
Select Space Setup (or Environment Setup).
Here, you can view the rooms you have already scanned or scan a completely new one.
Note: The headset can save up to 15 different scanned rooms, making it easy to move the training between different departments!
3. Create a Custom Boundary for Safety
For the best and safest experience during the simulation, we highly recommend setting a custom boundary rather than a stationary one.
In your headset settings, select the Boundary option.
Choose to manually draw your own boundary.
Walk around and draw the line so it covers the exact physical area you plan to move around in during the fire training. This ensures you won't bump into real-world objects while putting out the virtual fire.
That is it! Your headset is now perfectly configured for Mixed Reality. Start the Vobling VR Fire Trainer, step into your custom environment, and experience the future of safety training.
